To a good (new) year

To our Jewish readers around the world, L’Shanah Tovah – to a good (new) year (5782) – starting Monday night at sunset. The greeting is not “Happy new year”, but “To a good year”. Here is a 29-second video of blowing the shofar (ram’s horn) at sunrise in Jerusalem.

This day is described as a day of remembrance; a day of shofars; and a day of judgment for the Israelites. It inaugurates the ten days of repentance (literally, returning). Rosh Ha-Shanah (head of the year) is the day for the verdict. Nine days later, Yom Kipur (day of atonement) is the day for the sentence.

After writing about health and wellness, I was intrigued by a website for a group of wellness practitioners calling their field “functional medicine”. It is an interesting, holistic approach to wellness. Many of the practitioners are MDs, along with DOs, PAs, NPs, and so on. This is their organization, the Institute for Functional Medicine.

You can search on their website for a local practitioner. We found several in our area. Sadly, they do not call out the dangers of the CoVID injections. However, they are more focused on improving people’s wellness so they don’t get sick in the first place.
