Setting the stage: 4

As we continue to catch up, I would like to share some behind-the-scene analytics. Let me show you what WordPress is showing me about viewership in the last week.

My usual page views are about 100-200 per day. Something unusual happened last Friday and Saturday – I’m not sure what. That may have been the post about the museum of the Civil War soldier.

We need to return shortly to discussing 19th century politics in America. 1848 was a year of change in America as much as it was in Europe, when America the republic began to share the stage with America the empire. The growth of American government during and after the Civil War was, arguably, a predictable consequence of the Mexican-American War.

  1. Why is everything liberal?

To the Right, we have lives. We have families, we have jobs, and interests, and passions aplenty. To the Left, THIS IS THEIR FAITH, and they are filled with MARXIANIC ZEAL to advance it.

  2. Of all the videos and links you’ve provided, Surak, the one that caught my attention the most was the Loudon County, VA, “school board” meeting, The people who attended this meeting had a lot to say, and they weren’t done when “public comments” were closed. School boards all across the United States want to ply their dark trade out of the public’s view and hearing. At stake, are the children and the future of this nation. For decades, I’ve preached the notion that school board elections are the most important civic functions in the nation. Every member of the board in those two videos needs to be voted out of office, the next time there is an election. Parents and grandparents need to run for these seats. As they say down south, I “gar-an DANG -tee” you they would win.
