A recent discussion in a Substack comment section led me to the book Dissolving Illusions, by Dr. Suzanne Humphries and Roman Bystrianyk. It takes a grand tour of the issues of public health, infectious disease, and vaccines, primarily in the 19th and 20th centuries and early 21st century. The authors present evidence that the absolute risk reduction associated with vaccines is miniscule, because most of the diseases against which we vaccinate had declined to insignificant levels prior to the vaccine’s introduction. Balance the miniscule benefit against increasing evidence of harm, not just from individual vaccines, but from the combined, growing vaccine schedule, and you may flirt with becoming a genuine anti-vaxxer. The book has now joined my intended future reading list. This website includes a substantial pdf excerpt from the book.
Roman Bystrianyk wrote about “The Healthcare Illusion“. He discusses economic cost and lifestyle.
“Over 200 Scientists & Doctors Call For Increased Vitamin D Use To Combat COVID-19” The doses these doctors recommend are a bit scary for long-term use, given that vitamin D is fat-soluble. Nevertheless, they hold the growing belief that the winter respiratory illness season is in fact the annual vitamin D deficiency season, caused by less exposure to sunlight.
“The Mystery of Why Some People Don’t Get Covid“
Dr. Colleen Huber: “Harvard / Oxford et al Study Finds Hazards of Covid Vax” “Our estimate shows that university COVID-19 vaccine mandates are likely to cause net expected harms to young healthy adults.”
“Former HHS Advisor Compares Covid mRNA Jabs to Bioweapons – Must See Interview” AJ interviews Dr. Paul Alexander. Even the first 1.5 minutes is great.
Tennessee: “Teen runner has heart attack at HS cross country meet” At least he will never get CoVID!
Kirsch: “The head of the CDC’s outside committee on vaccine safety does not want to see the safety data collected by the Israeli Ministry of Health” “I finally got a response to my question to ACIP Chair Grace Lee about whether she wants to see the COVID vaccine safety data from Israel. She called the cops on me. I have the whole thing on video.” We don’t need no stinking data! That’s “anti-science”!
“Hospital Runs Myocarditis In Kids Awareness Commercial As If It’s A Common Illness” These people are sick. Now they made the video private, out of shame.
Los Angeles: “Former nurse calls out Sup. Nathan Fletcher’s failed policies that led to loss of her career” A loser politician with no skills can celebrate the firing of a nurse who used to save people’s lives. But that’s not a priority for your typical Democrat.
Dr. Pierre Kory: “The Criminal Censorship of Ivermectin’s Efficacy By The High-Impact Medical Journals – Part 1” “High-Impact medical journal editorial staff were getting orders to censor ivermectin studies from Big Pharma and “philanthropaths” like Bill Gates.” How is this not conspiracy to commit democide? These are crimes against humanity!
Dr. Colleen Huber: “Dr Sues Medical Board that Stole His License” “Pediatrician Paul Thomas MD dared to publish health outcomes comparing vaccinated and unvaccinated children. The Oregon Medical Board stole his medical license 5 days later.” It’s not happening to me, so it doesn’t matter – don’t get involved – right? Now why can’t I find an honest doctor?
The sudden, unexpected death of a police officer. I wonder what happened to him? At least he will never get CoVID!
“Don’t Tolerate People Who Hate You” “The people who are forcing the huge cultural shifts on our society are people you would disregard in person.”
“Say Her Name” Did her life matter?
I spoke too soon: “Supreme Court Reverses Itself, Rules Yeshiva University Must Recognize LGBT Club” Roberts and Kavanaugh are backstabbers. Will Notre Dame University be required to recognize a Muslim club? This is crazy!
“Violent Student Protesters Shut Down Tomi Lahren Speech at University of New Mexico” Nothing liberal there. Mrs. Surak calls them “hooligans”.
“Facebook spied on private messages of Americans who questioned 2020 election” Sounds “semi-fascist”. On second thought – no to “semi”.
“Gavin Newsom’s ‘State of Hate’ Commission Tilts Toward Democrats” Hateful conduct: disagreeing with the lunatic, thuggish, maoist left.
“Biden Asks Congress to End Social Media Immunity at White House Summit on ‘Hate-Fueled Violence’” “Multiple initiatives to combat ‘hate-fueled violence,’ racism, and extremism announced at summit” Sadly, Biden is not remorseful over his own hate-filled speech.
Don’t worry if you never heard of Twilio; neither did I. But here is their CEO announcing layoffs targeted at whites: “As you all know, we are committed to becoming an Anti-Racist/Anti-Oppression company. Layoffs like this can have a more pronounced impact on marginalized communities, so we were particularly focused on ensuring our layoffs – while a business necessity today – were carried out through an Anti-Racist/Anti-Oppression lens.” That does not apply to the CEO, however, who is special.
Sweden: “Four in Five ‘Refugees’ Have Vacationed in the Country They Fled From” So they were not oppressed? I’m shocked!
“MyPillow’s Mike Lindell Speaks Out After FBI Seizes Phone” This was lawless, and Mike is fighting back.
“Democrats Are Trying To Trump-Proof The Government In Case He Wins In 2024” Probably unconstitutional.
“Former CIA Station Chief: Intelligence Agencies Cannot ‘Be Reformed’ Unless POTUS Can ‘Fire Every Federal Employee’” Mrs. Surak recommends lifetime employment limits with government: for example, no more than 24 years total. I recommend removing the franchise (vote) from government employees, excepting military and veterans.
“The Stage Is Being Set For A Massive Global Rice Shortage” “I don’t eat rice, so not my problem, haha.” No, it is your problem, because those people who usually eat rice will need and seek something else to eat.
“The End of Cheap Food” “Global food production rests on soil and rain. Robots don’t change that.“
Victor Davis Hanson: “Ukraine with a Whimper or a Bang?“
“FedEx stock tanks after company withdraws outlook, says year is about to get worse” What do they know?
“1.3 Million Jobs Were Result of Double-Counting This Year, Heritage Economist Says” There is a growing gap between the number of jobs announced by employers, and the number of employees identified by individuals.
The interest rate spread between the Treasury 10-year and 2-year notes, usually positive, has been running negative lately, close to -0.5%. Although it recovered a bit in the last few days, the prognostication is now set. You don’t get a bond market inversion that large without a subsequent recession in fairly short order.
I notice gold falling as well as the Fed raises interest rates (do not fight the Fed). Gold is the lowest it has been in a couple of years. Once the Fed lowers interest rates to fight recession, I guess gold will shine.
See you later!
